Wish List Donations
It takes so many supplies to run our 32-bedroom, 36,000 square-foot House, Family Room at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital, and our Hospitality Carts! Help ensure that we have everything we need to provide our families by donating some items from our wish lists.
Current Urgent Needs Amazon Wish List
The items below can be dropped off or mailed to the House (1613 E. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC 28207). Gift cards to retail stores are always a wonderful way to help us purchase immediate needs for the House. Local restaurant gift cards help us provide dinner for our families. Red Shoe Society/Individual Giving
Individuals can give the gift of family amidst childhood illness or injury by supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte. The generosity of community members like you makes programs at the Ronald McDonald House and local children’s hospitals possible.
The Red Shoe Society recognizes individual donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte. These generous individuals have an extraordinary impact on hundreds of families each year and are integral to our ability to provide a comfortable “home-away-from-home”. Questions? Big Max/Corporate Opportunities
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte depends on the generosity of our community and corporate partners to carry out our mission. We offer a variety of ways for companies to get involved, from volunteering, attending, or sponsoring signature events. Each opportunity helps make a meaningful difference for the families we serve.
The Big Max honors corporate partners who contribute $5,000 or more annually through corporate gifts, sponsorships, or in-kind donations. These partners play a vital role in helping families stay together during their child’s medical journey, and we are deeply grateful for their generous support.
Adopt-A-Room
Imagine everything it takes to run your own home. Now multiply that by 32. Our incredible 36,000 square-foot House hosts 32 family rooms and is so much more than just a place to sleep at night. It’s a meal shared with another family in our dining room. It’s the warmth of a cozy couch in the living room while you catch up on the news. It’s the peace of mind of having a place to do laundry. We are equipped with all of the things that our families need to take care of themselves, so they can focus on the care of their children.
To operate the Ronald McDonald House, it costs approximately $130/night per room. Families who stay at the House are encouraged to make a $15 night donation, but families are never turned away if they cannot contribute. With mounting medical bills and travel costs, only about 30% of our families are able to pay even this modest amount for their stay at the House.

Pop Tab Collections
You see them every time you open up a soft drink or soup, sometimes even when you feed your pet. Those tiny little tabs are easy to overlook, but they can make a BIG impact on the families of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte!
Though small, tabs are clean and easy to collect – and they add up fast. RMHC of GC takes tabs to our recycling partner, United Scrap Metal, and exchange the tabs for money for our guest family fund! Although it costs RMHC of GC approximately $130 a night to shelter a family in medical crisis, families are invited to make only a small financial donation, but many cannot afford to contribute anything at all. The money from pop tabs helps to ensure that we are able to accommodate every guest, regardless of their ability to pay. Questions? Contact Hunter Hughes.
MILLION TAB CHALLENGE
RMHC of Greater Charlotte encourages schools, organizations, businesses, and small groups to take on the “Million Tab Challenge” to support guest families. It takes approximately 1,000 tabs to make one pound – why not try to collect 1,000 pounds? Anyone and everyone can join the Million Tab Challenge, all you have to do is start collecting and drop off tabs.
Matching Gifts
Your Chance to Increase Your Donation with a Matching Gift
Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees? By simply completing a matching gift form (online or paper), you may be able to double, or even triple the impact of your gift. Round-Up for RMHC
When you visit a local McDonald’s restaurant, you can help support families with sick and injured children by asking to Round-Up for RMHC when you place your order on the kiosk or with a crew member at the counter or drive-thru. It’s that easy! Asking to round up your total to the nearest dollar may not seem like much, but those amounts add up to big moments for our families.
