In the winter of 2025, Aliesha Watson began a journey no mother ever expects to face. Her energetic three-year-old son, Fox, became severely fatigued, and a sudden swelling in his cheek led to a devastating diagnosis – Ependymoma, an aggressive brain tumor.
Within days, Fox began treatment at the hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte quickly became a second home for the Pruitt-Watson Family.
Surrounded by the love and strength of his parents, sisters, and baby brother, Fox bravely underwent multiple surgeries, followed by six weeks of daily radiation treatments. Throughout this difficult journey, the Ronald McDonald House provided more than a place to stay, it offered stability, compassion, and the comforts of home just steps away from Fox’s medical team.
For 108 nights, the Pruitt-Watson Family found warmth, hope, and connection within the walls of the House. In every hard conversation, every impossible decision, and every moment of celebration, the Ronald McDonald House was there ensuring that the family could focus on what mattered most: healing together.
Today, Fox is all smiles, and his scans show no evidence of disease, a powerful reminder of the impact your support makes possible for families facing their most challenging days.
